Unravel

Unravel
Slip down stream, simple as
Fifteen drops of rain fallen
From a sky in blue
To summer dusk
Azure to deepest grey
You and I
We have time
We watch the seconds clock their hours
Climb to minutes
As if they were – ocean
Tides gasping upon the shore
Folding back upon their depths
Its finger trails clinging
To the fine sand grit beach
Leaving – here a bruise
There – a mark, and seaweed hair
Tangled up in green
And blue
We have time.
Time for me
Time for you
Time for earl grey (hot black, no milk to perjure its purity)
And bittersweet orange peel Cointreau
For Ravel’s 1912,‘To Madmoiselle’
Indeed – for poetry
All afternoon
